All consultative services described on this page are provided in collaboration with California Public Protection & Physician Health (CPPPH), with Dr. Granovetter serving as project lead and primary consultant. These engagements are designed to support healthcare organizations in addressing complex issues related to physician health, performance, and safety-sensitive roles.

These services do not involve treatment or formal diagnostic evaluations, but rather focus on helping stakeholders understand complex clinical, functional, and regulatory issues so they can make informed decisions.

  • Case Consultation for Well-being Committees, Physician Health Programs, Employers, or Professional Licensing Boards
    Expert guidance in complex or ambiguous cases involving possible impairment, return-to-work considerations, or fitness-for-duty concerns.

  • Interpretation of Prior Evaluations or Other Reports
    Objective review and explanation of previous assessment reports, treatment summaries, or collateral records to clarify clinical implications and functional relevance.

  • Recommendations for Independent Evaluators, Treatment Programs, or Monitoring Resources
    Helping stakeholders identify appropriate, qualified evaluators or structured programs suited to the case at hand—especially in high-risk or sensitive situations.

    Advising medical groups, hospitals, and their legal teams on best practices related to physician impairment policies, referral pathways, and confidentiality boundaries.

Scope and Limits

These services are advisory in nature and do not constitute treatment or formal independent evaluation. Consultative engagements conducted in collaboration with CPPPH are separate from Dr. Granovetter's independent evaluation and expert witness practice. Any engagement in a separate professional role would require a distinct agreement defining that role and its scope.
